Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine the tissue response to the traumatic occlusion after 1.5 mm elevated higher crown than normal occlusion had been inserted for 4 weeks on upper bilateral canines of a dog.
To evaluate the tissue response to the traumatic occlusion the histopathological observation was performed. The following findings were obtained.
1. Widening and inflammatory cell infiltrations of the periodontal membrane were observed.
2. The alveolar bone and periodontal membrane of the periap.¢¥cal area which had been traumatic occlusion were resorpted and that of opposite side were apposited.
3. Incresed or decreased activities of the cementoblasts and cementoclasts were showed.
